Swansea City host West Brom in the final match of the 2022/23 season today.
It’s been a campaign of ‘what if?’ for Russell Martin’s men, starting the term well before falling off alarmingly after the World Cup.
In recent weeks, though, they have put together an impressive run that gave them an outside shot of the play-offs.
That chance went last weekend but Martin will want to end the season on a high against the Baggies.

What have the managers said?
Russell Martin: “We are in the same situation as we were at Hull last weekend.
“Walshy and Jay miss out, they will not go away and get ready for pre-season when they will be totally fine and ready.
“We know we can finish in the top 10, and to do that we need a win, so that will be the aim.”
Carlos Corberan: “I think without a strong mentality you don’t arrive to the last game of the season with an option to play in the play-offs having started where we started together, and especially with the difficulty that we have been living in the last two months in the games.
“The previous week we played against teams with a physical advantage, in the GPS values we ran in the high intensity sprints more than Sunderland, more than Sheffield and more than Norwich. It talks about the desire of the players and I’m always pleased when I see the players give their best. Sometimes giving our best we win, sometimes we don’t win, but the minimum thing we can demand is our best and Swansea has to be the same way.”
