The third Grand Slam of the year gets underway today as the 2022 Wimbledon Championships take centre stage over the next two weeks, as Novak Djokovic looks to defend his 2021 title, while a new winner will be crowned in the ladies’ singles.
And as usual, all the coverage will be provided by some of the best presenters in the business, including Sue Barker in her 30th and final year at Wimbledon, while stars from the past will be helping to contribute with expert analysis.
Here is all you need to know about the BBC Wimbledon presenters.
Sue Barker
The face of Wimbledon coverage, Sue Barker, will be taking on her final tournament at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club after three decades of presenting, having started her journey at the 1993 edition of the third Grand Slam of the year.
The 66-year-old is calling time on her presenting career in 2022, when the men’s singles’ final on Sunday, July 10 will be her final farewell. Since becoming the BBC’s anchor for the event in 2000, Barker has shown remarkable professionalism, in a role that has included interviewing a host of champions on court after their victories on the final weekend.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said: “I’m very happy to be leaving with no regrets and on my own terms while I am still on top of the job, it just feels like the right time to go and leave it to others. Queen’s [the pre-Wimbledon event] has also been a big part of it and it’s a tournament that is very close to my heart.”

Presenters
Joining Barker on presenting duties will be Isa Guha, the ex-England cricketer who will be opening the coverage each day before handing over to the 66-year-old, while Clare Balding will host the daily “Today At Wimbledon” highlights show.
A host of former players will also be part of the television coverage, including Tracy Austin, Pat Cash, Annabel Croft, Johanna Konta, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Tim Henman and Caroline Wozniacki.
Off the screen, Tony Livesey and Gigi Salmon will present BBC Radio 5 Live’s coverage from Wimbledon each day, while a new Wimbledon Daily podcast will be fronted by Jonathan Overend and will be available on BBC Sounds.
Commentary
The BBC’s commentary team for television coverage at Wimbledon 2022 comes from Chris Bradnam, James Burridge, Andrew Castle, Matt Chilton, Kim Clijsters, Andrew Cotter, Kat Downes, Jo Durie, Colin Fleming, Peter Fleming, Paul Hand and John Inverdale.
There will also be appearances from Abigail Johnson, David Law, Nick Lester, John Lloyd, Miles MacLagan, Ronald McIntosh, Alison Mitchell, Nick Mullins, Pete Odgers, Arvind Parmar, Louise Pleming, Simon Reed, Sam Smith, Liz Smylie, Mel South and Andy Stevenson.
