Is Shohei Ohtani hitting in the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby? Here’s the answer.

When you look at the lineup for Monday night’s 2024 MLB Home Run Derby, there are some big-time sluggers in the mix, like the Mets’ Pete Alonso and the Orioles’ Gunnar Henderson.

However, perhaps the biggest name missing from the 2024 Home Run Derby list is the National League’s current home-run leader, Shohei Ohtani.

Once again, the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar is skipping the Home Run Derby.

The 30-year-old slugger was selected to start the All-Star Game as a designated hitter and did express some interest, per the Los Angeles Times. But because he’s rehabbing his elbow from offseason surgery so he can pitch next year, it’s probably not the best idea.
