'Is she dying?' This Morning viewers panic as Holly Willoughby runs off show choking

This Morning viewers were left in shock today (February 23) as presenter Holly Willoughby began to choke on the live show. Much to Phillip Schofield's amazement, the 42-year-old presenter ran off the ITV set.

The pair had just returned from an ad break when Holly began spluttering and ran off camera. The presenters were just about to hand over to Josie Gibson, who was spending the day at the NEC in Birmingham at a Caravan Convention, when the ordeal happened, Mirror reports.

Phil was in the middle of saying: "Before all of that, let's head back to Birmingham...." but before he could finish Holly began a coughing fit and said: "Excuse me, I knew that was coming."

Phil asked if she was "alright there?" and Holly held one finger up as if to say 'one second' as she couldn't speak. She then ran off screen to get a drink of water and clear her throat.

She then returned to the sofa whilst sipping something in a tea cup with Phil saying: "Are you coming back or should I crack on?"

Holly composed herself and added: "I am, you crack on. It's just gone down the wrong way. Excuse me. You carry on." Phil wanted to check again if she was ok however Holly gave him a 'thumbs up' to go ahead.

He said: "Okay, right then. We're going to go to our camping correspondent. Are you having the time of your life Josie? Talk quickly because we're man down, man down."

After the camping segment, Holly returned to Phil's side who asked "You're just back from sucking a fisherman's friend. All right?"

Holly explained what had happened and said: "Don't set me off again. You know when you think 'don't cough, don't cough' and then it catches in your throat and you've left it too late. But I'm back now."

Several viewers panicked as the event happened live on air. Some took to Twitter to say what they had just witnessed.

One viewer said: "What is Holly doing, is she dying. #ThisMorning" Another one said: "#ThisMorning Holly just choked omg." A third quipped: "OMG I love when things like this happen on live TV." "Not Holly choking live on air." A fourth added.
