On his podcast, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger recently talked about the Steelers current quarterback situation. The team currently has Russell Wilson and Justin Fields but both guys are set to hit free agency.
Roethlisberger thinks the Steelers should re-sign him and even laid out what he thinks the Steelers need to do to keep him.
“You’re not gonna be able to give Russ, I don’t think you can do a one-year,” Roethlisberger said. “If I were a betting man, I would say if the Steelers really wanted Russ back, I assume it would be like a three-year for $100 million, kind of what Baker Mayfield got in Tampa.”
A month ago, most fans would have been happy to have Wilson back on a contract like this. But after losing three games in a row, Wilson has lost a lot of leverage for a $100 million deal with the Steelers or any team in the offseason.
