The Baltimore Ravens will need wide receiver Rashod Bateman to step up big time for the 2024 season. He will be slotting in as the team’s No. 2 wideout behind Zay Flowers, which means added opportunities and responsibility for the former University of Minnesota standout.
When listing prominent NFL players facing make-or-break seasons, Alex Kay of Bleacher Report named Bateman one of them. He talked about how the fourth-year wideout has to capitalize on his opportunity and, if not, could be on his way out of the league.
“If Bateman can’t capitalize by becoming a strong third option behind Flowers and star tight end Mark Andrews at minimum, he’ll be closer to out of the league than signing a big second contract next spring.”
Bateman must start quickly, especially with Baltimore’s first five games being so challenging. He will also need to establish a good level of chemistry with quarterback Lamar Jackson over the course of training camp and the season, something the pair hasn’t been able to do to this point.
