Is Ravens RB Derrick Henry Hall of Fame worthy?

The Baltimore Ravens added an all-time great running back to their roster this offseason in Derrick Henry. The former Titans star has put together quite the name for himself, which means plenty of recognition.

When making the call on whether current players should get into the Hall of Fame, Bryan DeArdo and CBS Sports concluded that Henry should get the nod. While it was argued that career stats leave something to be desired, his single-season stats make up for it.

“King Henry’s career stats leave something to be desired (he enters the 2024 season less than 500 rushing yards from 10,000 for his career), but some of his single-season marks probably make up for that and then some…Henry is a two-time rushing champion who has also led the NFL in touchdown runs on multiple occasions. He is also just one of eight players in league history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season. In 2018, Henry tied Tony Dorsett’s long-standing record for the longest run in NFL history, a 99-yard jaunt against the Jaguars on prime time that in hindsight appeared to jump-start his career.”

Henry has spent eight seasons in the NFL as he gears up for his ninth. Henry should at least be in the conversation for a Hall of Fame spot, but the debate will be ongoing as his career continues.
