Is Man Utd vs Charlton on TV? Kick-off time, live stream and highlights details

Manchester United are looking to follow up their comfortable progress in the FA Cup by securing a spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals when they face Charlton Athletic.

Erik ten Hag is enjoying a prosperous period in his management of the club after overseeing a run of seven straight wins in competitive action. United are now five wins from five games since the post-World Cup restart, with Friday's 3-1 victory over Everton their latest triumph.

The Carabao Cup arguably offers United their best chance of silverware, with the Red Devils second favourites to lift the trophy behind rivals Manchester City. But League One Charlton stand in their way in the quarter-finals and will aim to put their indifferent form behind them to cause an upset at Old Trafford.

Here's everything you need to know about the match...

When is Man Utd vs Charlton?

The two sides will meet in the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday, January 10, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

It will be the first fixture between the teams since Charlton were last in the Premier League back in 2007. United inflicted a 2-0 defeat that day as the Addicks hurtled towards the Championship, with Park Ji-Sung and Darren Fletcher getting the goals.

However, MUTV will be screening pre-match build-up and post-match analysis, along with live radio match commentary, which is also available via the United App and on ManUtd.com. Highlights will be available from 1am on Sky Sports the following morning.

Team news

Erik ten Hag will likely look to make changes for the visit of League One opposition, particularly with the Manchester derby on the horizon at the weekend.

That could hand a start to Harry Maguire, who may step back in as captain with Bruno Fernandes out due to suspension. Donny van de Beek is still nursing an injury sustained against Bournemouth with no update on the Dutchman's return to action just yet.

It is expected Anthony Martial will be rested after playing against Everton, with Ten Hag admitting he is managing the striker's workload, while Jadon Sancho is still not ready for first-team duty.

New signing Jack Butland could well make his debut, however. Butland has replaced Martin Dubravka as United's back-up stopper, who started the last round victory over Aston Villa. David de Gea's mistake against Everton could be an ideal opportunity to take the Spaniard out of the firing line and give Butland his first bow for the Red Devils.
