Is 'Joy Ride' streaming? Here's when the debauchery will hit the small screen

The cast of Joy Ride

Is Joy Ride streaming? We've been completely caught up in reality TV (you did see the Casa Amour recoupling, right?) and we're still thinking about that Succession ending. But now, we could use a dose of levity, and Joy Ride has the humor element on lock.

A feminine take on The Hangover for Gen Z, this Ashley Park-led comedy certainly has a shock factor, but at its core, it's all heart. Plus, its Asian representation is more than welcome on the big screen.

"Before diving into the process of Joy Ride and seeing the script and how refreshing it was, there was a part of me that needed to be a part of this," actor Sherry Cola, who plays Lolo, revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "I was like, 'Oh, wow, this is rare. The first of its kind.' And it's also just so unapologetically funny."

So if you want to watch Joy Ride, here's how to catch the debauchery.

Is 'Joy Ride' streaming?

Joy Ride will hit theaters on Friday, July 7, and at this time, it's the only way in which to catch the new release. But it likely won't be that way for long. Typically, Lionsgate films like Joy Ride stream on Amazon Prime roughly three weeks or so after their theatrical premiere, so expect the comedy to arrive on the small screen in late July, or early August. As soon as a date has been confirmed, we'll be sure to let you know.

Audrey (Ashely Park) always had a tough time figuring out where she belongs, so she attempts to track down her birth mother while in China on business. Perhaps against her better judgment, she brings along her vulgar best friend Lolo (Sherry Cola) to translate. Lolo also recruits her whacky cuz Deadeye (Sabrina Wu) and Audrey's college roomie, Kat (Stephanie Hsu) a rising soap opera sensation in China, to come along for the journey.

Naturally, things go awry, particularly when a drug dealer (Meredith Hagner) attempts to dodge authorities and leave her goods with the quartet while they're on the train. Talk about a dramatic trip!

Who is in the 'Joy Ride' cast?

The Emily in Paris actor is joined by an equally lovable and hilarious ensemble. Here's who's who in the new film. (Psst: speaking of the City of Lights, here's what you need to know about Emily in Paris season 4.)

  • Ashley Park as Audrey
  • Stephanie Hsu as Kat
  • Sherry Cola as Lolo
  • Sabrina Wu as Deadeye
  • Desmond Chiam as Clarence
  • Alexander Hodge as Todd
  • Chris Pang as Kenny
  • Meredith Hagner as Jess

We're definitely ready for this off-color tale of friendship and identity, and we're anxious to see how things end up for Audrey and the pack.

"I think all of us, when we got the script, we were like, 'This movie has to happen,'" Park told Entertainment Weekly. "That's why there's such a genuine grace and gratitude...As much as we've all wanted things in the past, it was more about, 'If I get to be a part of this, that's so cool, but please, please, please let this movie happen.'"

That it is! We'll catch you in East Asia, folks!
