John Cena followed a familiar blueprint. Like The Rock and Batista before him (but not Triple H, Big Show or Hulk Hogan), he parlayed his wrestling stardom into a respected acting career.
Now he’s the guy from Peacemaker and a few Fast and Furious movies and also Barbie. While this is a waste of his PhD in Thuganomics, it is undoubtedly good paying work that does not require him to be slammed on his back on a weekly basis.
But Cena hasn’t forgotten his roots. Like The Rock and Batista, he’s returning to the WWE for one more main card run. And if he wins the 2025 Royal Rumble, he’ll cement his place at the top of the card at Wrestlemania 41.
That’s right; John Cena will be one of 29 competitors in the men’s 2025 Royal Rumble. If he wins, he’ll earn a world championship match at Wrestlemania in April — giving him the chance to add a 14th title belt to his cabinet before heading back to Hollywood.
