After missing last week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is back to work and expected to play Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. This is according to head coach Mike Tomlin in his Monday press conference.
Porter, a standout in Pittsburgh’s secondary, has been instrumental in locking down opposing receivers, and his return should help bolster a secondary that has struggled due to injuries.
This week the Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals who have one of the most formidable wide receiver units in the NFL led by Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Joey Porter Jr. injury update
Porter sustained the injury during the Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He missed the Christmas Day game vs the Chiefs mainly due to the short turnaround between games.
Steelers cornerback depth chart
Injuries to Porter and fellow cornerback Donte Jackson have really hurt this secondary. This group should be at full strength this week, allowing Cory trice to be the No. 4 cornerback and work in with James Pierre.
