Is Jack Sock Coming Out Of Tennis Retirement?

32-year-old American tennis player Jack Sock has fans intrigued after his latest comments on the Nothing Major Podcast.  Sock, John Isner, Steve Johnson, and Sam Querrey host the hilarious podcast.

James Blake was a guest for a recent episode. In addition to working for ESPN, James Blake is the tournament director for the Miami Open, the second jewel in the Sunshine Double that starts with Indian Wells in early March.

Sock mentioned to Blake that he might be interested in a wildcard to play doubles with Nick Kyrgios.

Jack Sock And Nick Kyrgios Were A Successful Team

Sock is an outstanding doubles player.  He can play with any partner, male or female, and win.  He has a history with Nick Kyrgios.  They won two titles together, most recently in 2022 in Washington, DC.

Kyrgios is returning to competitive tennis in 2025 after years away with injuries. It makes sense that he wants to get more match play through doubles with players he has teamed with and won titles.

In addition to Sock, he won the 2022 Australian Open with Thanasi Kokkinakis, and the pair will reunite at the 2025 Australian Open, to the delight of the home fans.

What Are Jack Sock’s Long-Term Plans?

Sock did not give anything else away on the podcast.  Is the Miami Open his only foray back into ATP tennis.  Could Sock be considering more tournaments?  He retired after the 2023 US Open and played competitive pickleball in 2024.

Jack Sock won 4 singles, 17 doubles, and 2 mixed doubles titles in his 12-year career.  Four were Grand Slams, and he won two medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, gold in doubles and bronze in mixed doubles.
