The single, sung with Mae Muller, has been released for his new animation film The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland, based on the book by Carys Bexington.
The film is streaming on Hulu and Prime Video in the USA and on Sky Cinema and NOW in the UK from December 13.
Glasgow-born Butler plays St Nick, who receives a delayed letter on Christmas Eve from the Princess of Hearts.
A summary of the film says: "Now, the Queen of Hearts, she has outlawed Christmas. As a child, the white rabbit missed her gift. Years later, St Nick and his dedicated team of reindeer set off to Wonderland to deliver her gift."
Butler has recently been announced as reprising his role in the animated How to Train Your Dragon in the live action version of the film. In this role, he also has a strong Scottish accent.
Butler has split his time between Glasgow and Los Angeles since 2011.
During the 2014 referendum, Butler was vocal in his support of Scotland becoming an independent nation.
As the campaign was in full swing, Butler said: "I can't see why Scotland shouldn't be independent – it has different attitudes, people and outlook."
The single can be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and iTunes.
