Isiah Pacheco was the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting running back earlier this season but saw his 2024 campaign abruptly halted in Week 2 when he suffered a serious injury in the defending Super Bowl champions’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
This forced the Chiefs to place Pacheco on their injured reserve list.
Isiah Pacheco injury update
Pacheco suffered a major setback when he fractured a fibula in Week 2.
He made his first return to practice in Week 11, but his participation in Kansas City’s drills was limited.
How long will Isiah Pacheco be out?
It is unknown how much more time is needed to ease Pacheco back into his starting role.
He is likely to make his comeback at some point before playoffs, but he will not see the field against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.
Chiefs RB depth chart
While Pacheco recovers, Kareem Hunt will be the No. 1 option in the Chiefs’ backfield. Hunt has proven to be a capable replacement for Pacheco this season and will combine with Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to keep Kansas City’s ground game rolling against Buffalo.
