Therefore, it is important for passengers to know the timing of Tatkal ticket booking. At present, such posts are going viral on social media sites that the timing of Tatkal tickets is changing from April 15.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, this post is viral on all social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram etc. In this post, it is being told that from 15 April 2025, there is a change in the timing of Tatkal ticket booking of Railways.

It has been claimed that the timing of premium Tatkal ticket is also changing. People are forwarding it to each other believing it to be true.
IRCTC has said through a post on X that such news going on in social media is wrong. IRCTC said that some such posts are circulating on social media channels in which different times of Tatkal and Premium Tatkal are being talked about.
According to IRCTC, there is no proposal to change the time of booking of Tatkal or Premium Tatkal in AC and non-AC classes at present. There has been no change in the time for agents either.

Tatkal ticket booking time
Tatkal booking for all AC classes (2AC, 3AC, CC, EC) of the train starts at 10 am 1 day before the journey. Whereas, booking for Sleeper Class (SL) starts at 11 am 1 day before the journey.
For example, if your train is on 20th, then Tatkal booking will be done on 19th. Please note that there is no facility of Tatkal booking in First Class. Ticket booking time is the same in Premium Tatkal as well.
