Bad news for any Glen Powell obsessives: Hollywood’s favourite leading man appears to be off the market. Or at least he certainly seems very close to it.
The 36-year-old Texas-born actor may not have been present at the BAFTAs this Sunday, but he was present for the annual Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party on Saturday night (and Sunday morning) at 5 Hertford Street, one of Mayfair’s swishest private members’ clubs.
Other guests included Demi Moore, David Jonsson, Lupita Nyong’o and Sebastian Stan, plus Powell’s former mentor and Top Gun: Maverick co-star Tom Cruise.
Oh, and Lily James. The very same Lily James that played the on-screen love interest of Glen Powell roughly seven years ago in the oft-forgotten yet beloved 2018 war romance flick The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
The pair piled into a taxi together outside the venue in fits of giggles, with Lily James wearing Glen Powell’s suit jacket and Powell looking noticeably dishevelled, his shirt partially open and tie askew.
As reported by The Sun: “The pair were then seen laughing and joking in the back of their taxi and they headed off together.
“It's unknown where they went, and if they went on to another party or home.”
It’s still unclear whether Glen Powell and Lily James are officially dating, with the actress having never confirmed her breakup from Queens of the Stone Age rocker Michael Shuman, though it is believed they split in 2023, rekindled in 2024, and have since split again.
Before Shuman, James has been linked Doctor Who actor Matt Smith, The Crown star Dominic West (in a seemingly extra-marital fling for the actor, who is still married to wife of 15 years Catherine FitzGerald) and Jack Fox (brother of Laurence).
Meanwhile, Powell has yet to enter into any kind of public relationship since exploding into the limelight in 2024. His most recent relationship was with model Gigi Paris, though this ended in April 2023, just before Powell’s big career boom.
In fact, aside from rumours of an off-screen romance with his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney (which turned out to be a very successful marketing technique), Powell is rarely linked to anyone at all romantically, making his dalliance with Lily James all the more significant.
Powell’s lack of romantic links hasn’t scuppered the feverish interest in his dating life, either. Powell was even asked about it as part of a interview on CBS Mornings last summer, to which the actor replied: “I’m not chasing love. If love comes and hits me in the face and knocks me over, I welcome it with open arms because that’s something I really want.”
However, the hugely in-demand A-lister admitted it would be difficult to date anyone at that point given his busy schedule. Perhaps the only option is to date another booked and busy actor... hey Glen?
