In September, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck was receiving first-round draft hype, with some analysts considering him to be No. 1 prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. Unfortunately, Beck proceeded to struggle in SEC play. Beck had an SEC leading 12 interceptions after the 28-10 loss to Ole Miss. As a result, several draft mocks and experts took him out of first round considerations. Paul Finebaum said he’s regressed.
However, Beck redeemed himself in Georgia’s most recent 31-17 win against the highly-ranked Tennessee Volunteers. He threw for 347 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, along with running for 32 yards and another touchdown.
Thanks to Beck’s performance against Tennessee, Jim Nagy, who is the executive director of the Senior Bowl, still believes Carson Beck has first round potential.
“Impressive bounce-back performance by Georgia QB Carson Beck against Vols,” said Nagy via social media. “NFL evaluators and the Senior Bowl are still high on Beck because his good tape is starter-level stuff… Dawgs have plenty of big stage games left for Beck to impress scouts.”
Nagy’s absolutely correct. Even with the gauntlet Georgia has faced this season, the postseason will feature the biggest games of them all. If the Bulldogs reach the College Football Playoff and Beck performs well, then his draft stock would skyrocket.
