As always, the trusty band of Fortnite leakers was right; the game's servers are going down for an update that deviates from the usual fortnightly schedule and we can expect a new vehicle, skins, and quests with the Summer Escape event.
The first major update of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 was just last Tuesday, with patch 25.10. It brought the planned Fortnite Ranked Season Zero reset with it, as well as two more The Witcher skins – Ciri and Yennefer – that are part of the Chapter 4 Season 3 Battle Pass. So the next regularly scheduled update and Fortnite downtime should be next week, on Tuesday, July 4. But it's here early.
The official @FortniteStatus Twitter account announced that downtime is kicking off today, June 27 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST with matchmaking set to be disable "shortly beforehand." This is usually 30 minutes Fortnite downtime, based on the usual biweekly updates, so expect to get kicked out of the servers around 12.30am PDT / 3.30am EDT / 8.30am BST.
How long will Fortnite servers be down for? The Twitter account hasn't provided any further details, but normal Tuesday updates see the servers go offline for around four hours. If that's the case with Fortnite update v25.11, then you can expect to be back on the Battle Bus by 5am PDT / 8am EDT / 1pm BST.
The Summer Escape event was leaked ahead of time by the usual stable of Twitter leakers, so we have a good idea of what's going to be listed in the Fortnite patch notes for update v25.11. Plus there's the Fortnite Trello board which is useful to see what Epic is planning to fix or roll out in future updates.

While the warning tweet for Fortnite servers going down didn't appear to say much more than that, @iFireMonkey thinks otherwise, suggesting the debut of the new Explosive Repeater rifle which was teased in the trailer for this season. @Hypex has also chimed in saying we may finally see the surfboard vehicle at last. Meanwhile @ShiinaBR has the leaked schedule for the Fortnite Summer Escape event. We may even see summer skin variants according to @FNChiefAko

- Crowns are not appearing in players inventories which means they are unable to be dropped

Players may have delayed credit toward the 'Damage Opponents' Ranked quest or may find that the full weapon damage is not credited toward a Ranked quest
