Is Eurovision's Subwoolfer Ben Adams from A1? Fans in disbelief as identity 'rumbled'

Eurovision 's UK commentator Graham Norton hinted that a familiar face, A1's Ben Adams, was under the mask of one of Norway's performers on Saturday night.

Subwoolfer took to the stage to perform their catchy hit Give That Wolf A Banana, which many fans have predicted could be a summer hit in no time.

But it has recently been teased that one of the singing duo is none other than 00s UK pop star Ben, from the band A1.

Graham appeared to confirm this on Saturday night, leaving fans in meltdown on Twitter.

As the mystery duo took to the stage and performed, they kept their identities hidden under their yellow wolf masks, also wearing smart suits and trainers to complete the look.

Graham told viewers: "So we think the shorter one is Ben, Ben Adams of boyband A1 fame. Yeah!"

The vocals of one of the duo did sound similar to Ben's voice, and viewers certainly thought so as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One fan commented after the performance: "I had a life size poster of Ben from A1 on my wall when I was a teenager. My mind is blown. I really hope he is part of Norway’s act."

Another fan tweeted: "I hope to God the small wolf is Ben from A1," as a third said: "Wait, so one of these guys is Ben from A1?"

A fourth fan asked: "No way, was that really Ben from A1 ??"

The comments kept coming too, with another reading: "I think it was him he hasn’t been at the last couple of gigs A1 has done it’s only been Christian, Mark and Paul."

Another tweet read: "I can't believe Ben Adams from the boyband A1 might be one of the guys dressed up for Norway's song, 'Give That Wolf a Banana."

Ahead of the final in Turin, a pal of A1 star Ben told the Mirror he was confident it’s him - as fans had predicted this to be the case.

Ben’s friend told us: “I’ve known him for over 10 years. I spoke to him the other day and he still won’t confirm or deny if he is a member of Subwoolfer. But... I’ve listened to the track and I could be wrong, but it certainly sounds like him.”

Ben, 40, lives in Oslo with his Norwegian model fiancee Sara Skjoldnes and their eight-month-old daughter.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
