Is Emmerdale on tonight? Latest on soap's return as ITV's Tuesday schedule announced

The ITV schedule has received a shake-up over the last few days, which has meant a number of the broadcaster's flagship programmes have been missing from the usual line-up or have aired at different times. The changes were made following the news that Queen Elizabeth II had died, aged 96, on Thursday, September 8.

Since Buckingham Palace made the announcement about Her Majesty, a number of channels have revised their usual schedules. ITV have been broadcasting a number of special news programmes to provide extended coverage on the unfolding events and Emmerdale's episodes on Thursday and Friday last week, including Monday (September 12) night's usual instalment, were postponed

ITV's coverage on September 13 has seen the return of Lorraine, with This Morning following until 12pm. An extended ITV News will cover The King’s Tour - Northern Ireland from noon, with coverage of Queen Elizabeth II - Return To The Palace from 4pm - this means that chat show Loose Women, and afternoon quiz shows including Tipping Point and The Chase will not be televised today.

But when will Emmerdale next be broadcast? Here are all the details on when ITV's long-running drama will return:

Is Emmerdale on tonight?

The Yorkshire soap is set to return to our screens on Tuesday, September 13. The double episode will be on at a slightly later time and follow an extended ITV Evening News, Emmerdale will start at 8.05pm and finish at 9.05pm.

As usual the new instalment will be broadcast on ITV and you'll also be able to stream over on the ITV Hub. Emmerdale was last on our screens on Sunday (September 11), when the episode that was originally planned for Thursday, September 8 aired - if you missed it, you can catch up on the ITV Hub.

Emmerdale usually airs weeknights on ITV and ITV Hub from 7.30pm.
