You would be hard-pressed to find a fan of the NBA who did not believe that Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum is a player one should not describe as a star, and for good reason given the numbers the St. Louis native has put up in this and recent seasons.
But when it comes to defining a player as a “superstar,” opinions can be much more sharply divided, even among fans of the team Tatum plays for in the NBA. What are the qualifications for being considered a superstar? Multiple All-Star bids? Making All-Star starter? All-NBA? First Team All-NBA? You could likely as a dozen people and get a dozen different definitions from them — and have them all be plausible ones at that!
