Love Island clip shows contestants Joanna, Belle and Jourdan struggle with basic geography

Love Island has posted a clip ahead of tonight’s (Sunday 7 June) episode that shows some of the contestants struggling with basic geography.

Viewers have reacted with astonishment after watching the moment on Twitter, which involves Belle, Joanna and Jourdan as they talk about fellow Islander Anton.

Belle reveals that Anton told her that he has a condition for any prospective partners – that they have to get on with his mother for him to date them.

She then confesses that she didn’t think his mum would have a Scottish accent (without explaining why) before revealing that they “cleared up that Edinburgh was Scotland”.

“Is it?” Joanna says, sounding shocked. “I didn't know, oh my God!”

“Seriously?!” Belle then said in disbelief, leading her to ask: “Dublin's in Ireland, did you know that?”

“Is Italy in Rome, or Rome in Italy?” Joanna then asks, with Jourdan clearing up that it is the capital of Italy.

“Is Barcelona in Rome?” Belle asks. Jourdan then wrongly (although with an impressive amount of conviction) tells her it is in Italy.

“I thought it was Spanish,” a disconcerted Belle says.

Tonight's episode of Love Island will include a special guest appearance from Craig David, who shared a video message ahead of the show urging people to be kind to contestants.

Love Island continues on 7 July at 9pm on ITV2
