Irvine Welsh’s first TV series ‘Crime’ gets gritty first-look trailer

Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh ’s first TV series, based on his 2008 novel Crime has released its first trailer.

The new show will stream exclusively on BritBox next month and the sneak peek showed fans the first look at Detective Inspector Ray Lennox, played by Dougray Scott.

Crime follows Ray Lennox as he investigates the disappearance of a school girl in the area whilst battling his own demons at the same time.

The gritty six-part series also stars Joanna Vanderham, Angela Griffin, Ken Stott and Jamie Sives, and has been adapted by Welsh and his screenwriting partner Dean Cavanagh.

A synopsis for the show reads: “ Crime is the story of Ray Lennox in a city on the edge of the abyss, Lennox is a man whose clear sight is not always a blessing.
