Irvine's indoor shopping centre reopens and here's the shops that are back in business

The Rivergate Centre in Irvine has reopened after getting the go ahead from the Scottish Government.

Irvine’s shopping centre was expected to remain closed until July 13 while stores in the high street with an outdoor access were granted permission to open on Monday.

But the centre announced on social media that ‘following confirmation from the Scottish Government’ all non-essential shops within the Rivergate can now reopen.

Here are the shops inside the centre now open as of today, July 1.

The Rivergate Centre post on Facebook said: “We have received confirmation from the Scottish Government that due to the Rivergate Shopping Centre being a public thoroughfare, all non-essential stores within the Rivergate can reopen.

“Please be advised that this does not mean all stores within the centre will be opening this week, as it will take a few weeks for some of the stores to put their social distancing measures in place for re-opening. We will have an updated pinned post at the top of our page each day listing the stores which will be open.

“We are receiving a staggering amount of messages each day asking if certain stores are open. It is not possible to reply to all of these messages. If the store is not on the list it means the store is still closed.

“We also ask that you observe all the social distancing measures we have in place throughout the centre and follow the one way system.”
