Colin Spence admits Irvine Meadow face a vital five days with two tough matches that could shape the rest of their season.
Meadow make a tricky trip to Loch Park to face relegation-battling Glenafton tomorrow then entertain Benburb on Wednesday night.
And co-boss Spence insists the outcomes of the clashes could determine what end of the table his charges end up fighting at.
Meadow currently sit eighth in the West of Scotland League Premier Division.
But in a one-off season where seven teams out of 20 are relegated, they are only six points away from the drop zone.
Spence said: “It’s as big a week as it gets really. If we can win the next few games we will be sitting in a good place.
“On the flip-side, though, if things don’t go the way we want we could be left looking over our shoulders.
“Our aim is to get on the coat-tails of the top six but in this league, with so many teams going down, things can change so quickly.
“You only need to look as the like of Largs and Rob Roy who have put a run of results together and started to climb the table.
“We don’t want to find ourselves in that pack.”
Glenafton will be looking to do the double over Meadow having won 3-1 when the sides met on the opening day of the season.
And Spence admitted: “Loch Park is never an easy place to go to but our away form has been excellent.
“We’ve also won two out of our three league games so far this year so we can go there with confidence.”
Spence will be boosted by midfielder Neil Slooves’ return from injury.
But the game will come too soon for striker Graham Boyd who has been diagnosed with a hip muscle
tear.
