If you’re living in the east of Ireland, the worst of Storm Eunice is yet to come this afternoon.
Wind speeds of up to 130kmh are being clocked in the southern counties, however, forecasters have warned these conditions are making their way across Ireland.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from storms in the past, it is that those back garden trampolines don’t stand a chance of staying put if not secured.
Dublin Fire Brigade even warned homeowners to secure theirs in advance of strong winds arriving in your county, reminding everyone of the bizarre places they can end up in.
During Storm Barra, people were sharing hilarious photos of the random places trampolines had landed in the aftermath of the extreme conditions.
One man in Belfast has therefore shared his hilarious DIY hack that is “better than nothing” for any fellow last-minute people.
Grab two buckets, a bungee cord, and as much water as you can fit - then secure the buckets either side of the metal frame.
The man wrote: “Hey Trampoline ppl. If you haven’t got a proper anchor kit then just do this on at least 3 sides of it. Better than nothing. Fill your buckets as high as you can.”
Another US twitter page had the same idea during a recent storm, only he used two buckets, a cord and red bricks to hold it down.
If your garden is mainly concrete, throw some sandbags into the centre of the trampoline - if you have them - and in most cases it will stay put, according to the blog, Fun in the Yard
It only takes wind speeds of around 64kmh to move a trampoline, and so with the severity of Storm Eunice’s gusts, securing back garden furniture of all kinds is necessary.
