A foster appeal was made by the charity on June 8 and four days later Saoirse was relaxing in her new foster home complete with wooden floors and Aga. By July 1, she was home for good.
The amazing breed, which can weigh up to 13 stone, is registered as a vulnerable breed, with puppy registrations dropping over recent years.
However Saoirse peaked the interest of the public and following her appeal Molly Moo’s Westie Rescue were so busy with offers of help they had to say they could take no more.
In a post on social media they thanked everyone for their help, apologising for not being able to get back to each individual.
Irish Wolfhounds are well known as the mascots of the Irish Guards and the Royal Irish Regiment, but Saoirse is no working gal. Today we see her lounging around with her new family after finding her forever home and according her rescue team, she has ‘landed on all four paws’.
