Irish Water warns of 'supply disruptions' due to planned works in Dublin area

Hundreds of homes could be without water as Irish Water is set to carry out planned works in Dublin.

Valve installation works will place as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme on Friday.

Residents in St Aidan's Park Road, Marino and surrounding areas in Dublin 3 will face "supply disruptions" all day.

Works are scheduled from 9am until 5pm.

A notice on the Irish Water website said supply may take two to three hours to fully return to all affected properties.

Around 40% of Ireland's treated water is lost through leaks before it even reaches the taps.

In 2021, Irish Water invested a whopping €500 million in the National Leakage Reduction Programme which aims to provide a more reliable water supply by fixing leaks.
