Irish viewers clash after explosive Cristiano Ronaldo interview

Irish viewers had different opinions after Cristiano Ronaldo sat down for an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Manchester United forward's days at the club appear to be numbered after his lengthy sit down with Morgan and was not involved in the squad for their last game against Fulham.

Currently over in Qatar for the World Cup, the first part of the two part interview aired with Ronaldo praising Roy Keane.

But the Manchester United forward was highly critical of the club as part of his interview.

He said: "Manchester Utd made zero progress. Real Madrid and Juventus followed recent technologies, infrastructures

“They always tried to progress even in terms of training, nutrition & how to recover from games. Man United is behind clubs like those”.

And more revelations are set to come tomorrow in the second part but Irish fans had mixed opinions on the interview.

One Twitter user wrote: "Do I agree with everything Ronaldo said in that interview? No. But I've not lost an ounce of respect for him. I'm not gonna turn on him for speaking his mind.

"Everything he said about utd we've all wanted to hear for years. The clubs a mess. Mourinho, van Gaal and Ibrahimovic have all said it before. So ronaldo saying it too is no coincidence. I actually think it's a pity he came back because he deserves so much better"

While another said: "So far, Ronaldo hasn’t said much wrong. I will decide tomorrow how I feel after he “goes after Ten Hag”. Let’s see"

But another user was less kind towards Ronaldo.

"Ronaldo has such a huge ego (which likely is part of why he’s become one of the world’s best), that it almost seems he came back to Utd thinking he could be their saviour. Was never going to end well, when you’re going in already thinking you’re bigger than the club."
