Irish people flock to Spain in their thousands every year to soak up some rays on the beach.
However, Spain has some of the toughest anti-smoking laws in Europe and they are about to crack down even harder.
Before heading off on your holidays it is worth noting a recent law change that will soon ban smoking on the beach in a certain part of Spain.
Starting in July, smoking will be banned on all beaches in Barcelona, Spain's second largest city.
And it could end up costing you up to €2,000 if you accidently break the law.

The decision comes after a pilot project last year saw smoking banned on four of the city's 10 local beaches.
"Beaches with no smoking allowed will offer healthier communal living areas, with less waste and will respect the defence of environment," the city hall said in a statement on Friday
Smoking has also been banned on beaches in other parts of Spain for environmental reasons.
Cigarette butts have become a major cause of coastal pollution and in December 2021, Spain passed a law that permitted local councils to fine smokers on the beach up to €2,000.
The Balearic and the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Galicia and Valencia also have partial or total bans of smoking on their beaches, with smoking only allowed in certain designated zones on the beach.
