A Queen's University student who had been in intensive care following an allergic reaction has died, his family have announced.
Jakub Bednarz, 21, suffered a severe allergic reaction on March 25 and due to complications spent the last month in intensive care before passing away on April 27.
Originally from Poland, Jakub moved to Omagh, Co Tyrone as a toddler and attended Omagh CBS before moving on to study music at Queen's University, Belfast.

Announcing the news of his death, his mother posted on Facebook: "With great sorrow and grief we have to inform that supporting our son's life machine was withdraw yesterday 27.04. and Jakub passed away.
"The funeral mass with family, friends and colleagues will take in Christ the King Church in Omagh at 1:30pm this Sunday."
Omagh CBS described Jakub as a "diligent, determined and conscientious pupil", in their tribute online.
They said: "It is with great sadness that we learnt today of the passing of Jakub Bednarz.
"Jakub was a much-loved and highly respected pupil at the Christian Brothers’ Grammar School between September 2012 and June 2019, when he left to study Music and Audio Production at Queen’s University Belfast.
"He was a diligent, determined and conscientious pupil with an infectious and engaging warmth that made him extremely popular with his peers and staff alike.
"He was sincere, good-natured and always generous with his time, voluntarily assisting at many school events over those seven years.
"As a school community, we pray for the repose of Jakub's soul and extend our deepest sympathies to Jakub's family at this very difficult time.
"His gentle and unassuming nature will ensure that he will always be remembered with great fondness and affection by all of us who knew him."
Friends of the young student had been fundraising to try and get him to Poland for specialist treatment whilst he was on life support.
Jakub's funeral will take place in Christ the King Church, Strathroy this Sunday at 1.30pm.
