Caroline Corr's marriage to her husband and property developer Frank Woods has ended.
They married in Spain in 2002 and have three children, 17-year-old Jake, Georgina, who is 16, and Rihann, who is 13.
Caroline has made a public announcement about the break up on her Instagram page, RSVP Live reports.
She posted a picture of the book 'Conscious Uncoupling, 5 Steps To Living Happily Ever After' by Katherine Woodward Thomas.
The singer and drummer said: "This book has been around a long time and I’m certainly not the first or will be the last to mention it but I only started to really understand and like the term conscious uncoupling when going through my own separation some months ago after many many years of marriage.
"Consciously endeavouring to maintain a good, loving and respectful relationship with my ex has been enormously beneficial to us both and especially to our children.
"I am also so aware and understand that this may not always be possible for many couples due to pain, fear, anger disputes and loneliness."
Caroline went on to say that separation hasn't been easy but she and Frank are doing their best.
She said: "These transitions are never easy for anyone and we cope and do our best at the time.
"I would recommend this inspirational and supportive book to anyone going through the difficult transition of separation or divorce."
Caroline is part of the hit Irish group The Corrs, who hail from County Louth, alongside her siblings Sharon, Andrea and Jim.
Last year, Sharon split from her husband Gavin Bonner after they got married in the Church of St John, Cratloe, close to the Limerick border, in August 2011 before a lavish reception in Dromoland Castle Hotel.
The Sunday World newspaper reports that Caroline and Frank won't be making any further statements about their marriage or seperation.
Caroline currently lives in the Somerset area of England with her three children.
