Irish social media star Lauren Whelan unveils stunning hair change

Irish TikTok star Lauren Whelan has revealed a stunning hair change.

The influencer and TikTok star Lauren Whelan took to social media to share her new hair colour, shocking family and friends in the process.

The 22-year-old switched it up as she opted to change to ginger from her usual blonde tresses.

The social media star has a large online following, with over 1.5 million followers on the popular app TikTok and over 61,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Her brother humorously asks her in the new video, “Why are you ginger?”

Fans of Lauren reacted on social media to the makeover.

One fan said: “Omg that colour looks so good on you! gorgeous girl!”

While another added: “It's unreal omg”

Fellow social media stars also shared their support.

Miriam Mullins added “Love”, while Keilidh Cashell said: “Obsessed”.

Lauren hit the headlines in summer 2021 after confirming that she had been making so much money as a content creator that she would be able to take out a mortgage.

She previously appeared on RTE Radio One to discuss the launch of Ireland’s first summer school for teen influencers in IT Carlow with Brendan O’Connor.

Lauren told Brendan O'Connor: “I’m definitely earning a lot more than I would if I was working a regular job, 100%.

“I’m living at home, you know what I mean like, I don't have to pay rent or anything like that because I go to college in Carlow, there’s no real point of me moving out and paying for rent in Carlow when I live here already.”

She discussed how she sees herself as an influencer in the future but has ambitions to eventually step into the radio and television industry.

She added: “I love what I do, like I love making videos, like it is my job but like it doesn’t feel like a job because I absolutely love it.”

At the same time, like I’d love to get into radio, I did like the IT course with KCLR recently, and I’d love to do TV and stuff like that as well, but I do see influencing as my career for the moment at least.”

The bubbly star says she realised the major potential she had in making content creating her career after she was approached by the Pluto marketing agency.
