Several products have been taken off supermarket shelves due to food safety concerns over the past week.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a number of recalls for specific batches of products in the last few days.
Customers have been urged to check their fridges, freezers and cupboards for any affected items and follow the issued advice on what to do next.

Retailers who stock the impacted products will have point of sale notices posted in their stores and provide shoppers with refunds for returning any affected batches.
Below are all of the current recall notices in effect for several Irish shops:
Green Box Limited Cendawan Enoki Mushroom
The FSAI issued a recall notice for Green Box Limited Cendawan Enoki Mushroom due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. The infection can be more severe in rare cases, causing serious complications.
Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly.
The time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing is, on average, three weeks but can range between three and 70 days.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected batch was sold.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch - 2022114640; Item Code: C007
TRS Ground Cumin Jeera Powder
A batch of TRS Ground Cumin Jeera Powder has been recalled due to elevated levels of pesticide residues and the detection of unauthorised pesticides which are not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch, with best before date: 30/04/2023.
Hugold CBD Oil Products
All batches of the Hugold CBD Oils listed below are being recalled due to the presence of unsafe levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
The Oils contain unsafe levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) based on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) acute reference dose.
Consumers are advised not to consume the products.
The affected products are below:
Chongqing Instant Noodles Sour Hot Flavour
All batches of Chongqing Instant Noodles Sour Hot Flavour are being recalled as milk is not declared on the ingredients list.
This may make these batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk.
Revolution Ragu
The FSAI issued an urgent recall of batches of Revolution Ragu.
The affected products may have cereals containing gluten (wheat, barley, oats and rye) which are components of the yeast extract ingredient.
These cereals are not declared on the list of ingredients of some batches of Revolution Ragu.
This may make the affected batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of cereals containing gluten - wheat, barley, oats and rye.
The affected batch of Revolution Ragu is pack size: 370g, which does not declare wheat, barley, oats and rye.
Dunnes Stores Smoky BBQ Irish Pork Ribs
The FSAI has also recalled a batch of Dunnes Stores Smoky BBQ Irish Pork Ribs.
The incorrect back label was applied to the implicated batch of the product.
The item contains barley which is not mentioned on the label.
This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of cereals containing gluten (barley).
The batch affected by the recall is Dunnes Stores Smoky BBQ Irish Pork Ribs; pack size: 500g with the use-by date of 13.05.22 and approval number: IE 538 EC.
Frozen Jona Red Tilapia Fish
A batch of frozen Jona Red Tilapia Fish is being recalled due to the presence of the unauthorised substances malachite green and leucomalachite green.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed for this product in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
Malachite green is an unauthorised veterinary medicine not permitted in foods in the EU. This substance can be broken down to form leucomalachite green.
Malachite green was previously used in some countries to treat parasites and fungal and bacterial infections. Although in breach of the Reference Point for Action, the fish in question does not pose an acute health risk, but there may be an increased risk if there is continued consumption over a long period.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected batch was sold.
Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers, recall the affected batch, and provide a point-of-sale recall notice for their retailer customers.
Caterers should also not use the implicated batch.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.
The affected batch is Lot No.: VN/472/IV/169; best before date: 17/09/2023.
