An Irish politician has hit back after being 'shamed' over a picture she took at the Irish Podcast Awards on Friday night.
Senator Lynn Ruane proudly posed for the photo after she won the top prize for 'Best Interview Podcast' for her podcast Conversations on the Margins at the ceremony that took place in Dublin's Liberty Theatre.
The light-hearted snap was posted to Twitter and showed the Dublin senator leaning forwards as she held out the award plaque while making a pouting face.
She captioned it: "This is how I receive awards. Well done to all the team."

Many people took to the comments to congratulate her on the win with one person writing: "Well deserved."
Another said: "Congratulations. A brilliant podcast made by brilliant people."
However, the politician received some harsh criticism for the way she posed in the snap with one person telling her: "Ur (sic) supposed to represent the country..."
Senator Ruane defended herself in a statement on Twitter the following day saying that she refused to be 'shamed' for being a woman with a sense of humour.
She wrote: "I can no longer be shamed for simply being a woman, with an opinion, a body, a humour, a fun side, a serious side, an emotional side, literally all the sides of all the things.
"I'm a full human and I refuse to be shamed. If ur (sic) instinct is to insult me, then that’s a YOU problem."
One person praised her for her response to the trolls, saying: "Good for you. There are far too many cowardly keyboard warriors on social media who enjoy insulting and abusing other people."
