Irish rugby star CJ Stander and his wife Jean-Marie have welcomed their first child

Irish rugby star CJ Stander and his wife Jean-Marie have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Everli. 

The sportsman took to Instagram this morning to break the news. 

Sharing a sweet snap of the baby, he told his 99.1k followers: "We can only dream where these tiny feet will go in her lifetime. Our only hope is that they never forget the way home.

"Everli Stander. 2 August 2019.

"@jmneethling is a legend and doing great. Looking forward to taking my girls home soon. #shotgunsloaded."

Friends, family, fans and colleagues have flooded the comments with their good wishes and congratulations.

"Congrats big man.. Great news," wrote Munster star Sammy Arnold, while Leinster player Andrew Porter wrote: "Huge congrats Mr. Cedric and @jmneethling."

CJ announced the news that they were expecting a baby on Valentine's Day, sharing a poem on Instagram.

"On this Valentines day there is no better time to say, our hearts have been stirred," he wrote.

"For this child we‘ve prayed and our prayers have been heard.

"With gratitude & excitement we can say there is a Stander baby on the way."

CJ and Jean-Marie celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in June after tying the knot in South Africa.
