An Irish restaurant has snapped back at one disgruntled customer who didn’t even have the chance to dine at their restaurant.
The customer was visiting Cork from Dublin and seemed to misunderstand just how the restaurant operated.
The woman, who has been branded a “Karen”, arrived at Luigi’s at Bella Roma in Youghal at around 1pm. However, she was far from impressed when she found the venue to be closed.

She knocked on the door after she saw someone inside through the window, but claimed she was “ignored”. In an attempt to give them the “benefit of the doubt”, she phoned the restaurant to no avail.
After a "lovely lunch elsewhere”, the woman said: "Maybe the restaurant was affected by Covid or short staffed, but a note on the door would have helped."
Locals from the area will tell you that the owner of the restaurant, Luigi Camilleri, doesn’t take any flack. The hugely popular owner has been one of the town's staples since moving in around 2007, Cork Beo reports.
He hit back at the one-star review without holding back. He said: “Dear Karen, we feel sorry for you and for not fulfilling your urge for pizza!
"Do us and others a favour - next time you find a restaurant door closed, it is safe to say they are not open yet. Sign or not, phone call or not.
"Most of all, don't go and drop negative reviews just because you feel entitled since you have no clue why the establishment is not open."
