Irish Rail has launched their Apprenticeship Programme for this year.
The programme is currently welcoming applications for September 2023, "in keeping with their company vision to continuously grow and improve". They are hiring across four trades:
- Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Apprentice Fitter
- Apprentice Electrician
- Apprentice (OEM) Original Equipment Manufacturing

The public transport operator is looking for those who enjoy practical work and have an attitude to succeed to apply. Applicants should also be interested in travelling and working around the rail network while completing the apprenticeship.
Applications close on Monday the 15th of May 2023. Placements will commence in September 2023 and applicants must be at least 16 years of age on or before the 1st September, 2023.
