Irish Rail announce late-night DART and commuter train timetable for Christmas

Late-night DART and commuter services will begin this weekend to help passengers travel around Dublin this festive season.

Irish Rail confirmed today that extra services will operate on Friday and Saturday nights throughout December, with the exception of Christmas Eve. Normal fare rates will be charged for the services and there will be security personnel on board to ensure customer safety.

The late-night trains will serve the Howth and Greystones DART routes, the Maynooth commuter line, Dundalk and the Parkwest/Kildare route. Additional late-night services are also timetabled for New Year’s Eve in Dublin.

The extra services will run from the following times on the following routes each Friday and Saturday night, beginning this Friday December 2 and ending Friday December 23:

  • 00:30 & 01:30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 00:30 & 01:30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 00:40 & 01:40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 00:20 & 02:00 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
  • 23:50 & 01:50 from Pearse serving all stations to Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest to Kildare

New Year's Eve will have a slightly altered timetable, with services running as follows:

  • 01:30 & 02:30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 01:30 & 02:30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 01:40 & 02:40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 01:20 & 03:00 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
  • 00.50 & 02:50 from Pearse serving all stations to Drumcondra, and all stations from ParkWest to Kildare
