Irish pub leaves customers in shock with 'crazy price' charged for pint as receipts show huge bills

Irish pub-goers were left shocked over the "obscene" price charged by one Dublin pub on St Patrick's Day.

Two customers of the pub, located in tourist hotspot Temple Bar, posted receipts online of their sizeable bills.

People couldn't believe the cost of one pint of Guinness - a whopping €8.10.

Reacting to the price tag on Twitter, some social media users exclaimed their horror, saying "Mother of God", "holy cow" and "Jesus wept".

However, there was less sympathy from others who said the visitors to the pub should have known better as prices are often higher in Temple Bar than in other locations across the city.

One person said: "You need to 'shop around'. Crazy prices."

A second said: "Why give it to them? Shop around, Temple Bar is overrated."

A third wrote: "Never change a temple bar, never change."

A fourth exclaimed: "Shocking price."

A fifth said: "You were mugged!!! Report to a pub outside the Temple of Thieves immediately for rehabilitation, just up the Street 66 from you."

Someone else commented: "Don’t know why people are still so surprised by the prices in temple bar. They will charge them so long as people continue to pay them."

Another added: "That's pure obscene."

While one Twitter user said: "I won't be asking [for] directions to that pub."

A second replied: "Jaysus they are dear pint, did you get to keep the glass at that price."

Another said: "That’s chronic!"

While someone else added: "Need a mortgage to drink there."
