Irish pub has message for woman caught on camera leaving with worker's coat

An Irish pub has made an appeal after an unidentified woman who was caught on camera leaving the premises with a staff member's coat.

Fionbarras on Douglas Street in Cork City is known for its vast selection of drinks, the colourful and buzzing beer garden, and delicious pizzas.

However, they have hit the headlines for some different reasons this week after the recent customer who caught their attention.

After a long day serving up the people of Cork on Sunday, one barman noticed their much-loved jacket had gone astray and wasn't where they left it, reports Cork Beo.

After a thorough look around, it was still nowhere to be seen, so the lads had a look at the CCTV and realised that a young woman had picked it up and gone off with it.

After Monday went past and it wasn't dropped back in, they decided to send a message out, warning that if the person who took the coat didn't see the appeal in time, they could risk having the video published in a bid to ID them.

They said: "This jacket belongs to a member of staff in Fionnbarra, it can be seen taken clearly from the premises by a young lady on Sunday night.

"If the person returns the jacket over the next few days we will consider the matter a case of picking up the wrong jacket and the matter closed."

Having a few pints and going off with the wrong jacket is something that happens in fairness, with the publicans acknowledging that the case of mistaken identity coat taking will be put to bed if they get it back soon.

It's now clear what their next move will be if not, but if it were us, we wouldn't want to wait and find out.

If you know the whereabouts of this lovely coat, do get in contact with the team on their Facebook page here.
