Phillip Schofield continues to be at the centre of a media storm in the UK after sensationally quitting ITV's flagship morning show This Morning last month after admitting an affair with a much younger male colleague.
As the controversy rages on, bookmakers have put Irish host Craig Doyle in the picture to replace the embattled 61-year-old Schofield long-term on the show.
Craig Doyle is a familiar face to many having filled in on This Morning previously and as the anchor of BT Sport's rugby coverage. He has also appeared on other shows on both ITV and the BBC. He previously hosted his own chat show on RTE.

Doyle has now emerged as the new 5/2 favourite to take over from Phillip Schofield alongside well-known face Rylan Clark (also 5/2).
The popular ITV morning show has been in freefall since Phillip Schofield announced his departure and with an external review now looming over the channel and putting pressure on telly execs to clean up the mess.
Numerous names have been touted with regular hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary (joint 3/1 second favourites) both being tipped as credible candidates. But it’s the smooth-talking Dubliner that seems to have charmed viewers with several bets being placed in the last 24 hours.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Craig stood in for Dermot on the show last week and it seemed to have sparked an interest with viewers who are now betting on him to land the gig. Social media lit up with praise for Doyle as he hosted alongside Alison Hammond which wouldn’t have gone unnoticed with ITV bosses.”
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Holly Willoughby to stand down as one half of the This Morning presenting duo. BoyleSports is quoting just 6/4 that Holly will follow Phil out the door and 10/1 that the show is axed completely.
