Irish man gets Social Welfare logo tattooed on his face 'because it's funny'

An Irish man has truly made his mark after getting the Social Welfare logo tattooed on his face.

Paraic Keane got the hand and bird symbol of the Department of Social Protection on his cheek yesterday. While this is his first face tattoo, Paraic said he's keen to get more and joked he might get the SuperValu logo or the Lidl logo inked on his face next.

Paraic, who is a tattoo apprentice at Dark Arts Studio in Cork City, is not currently on the dole and works at a restaurant in the city centre. He told CorkBeo that the inspiration behind the tattoo was "because it's funny" before adding he doesn't really care what other people think.

He said: "I've been wanting it for a while now and I kept being told to wait a few weeks to think and make sure I was still down to get it done. I've got a few tattoos, but this is my first face tattoo. Maybe the SuperValu logo, oh no wait, the Lidl logo, that'd be funny."

Paraic got tatted by Eric Moore at Feel Good Ink, who Paraic said he had to persuade to do it.
