An Irish golfer is set to replicate an impressive statistic that has only been done my Rory McIlroy.
Tom McKibbin is one of the hottest prospects in Irish golf and continued his recent good form with a 13th place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
McKibbin entered the week at 318th in the world and his recent run of good form means he is on the verge of breaking into the world top 300.
And popular World Ranking twitter account @VC606 has said that McKibbin's achievement means he is only the second Irish teenager to break into the world's top 300, the only other being Rory McIlroy.
The account said: Indeed, and all that consistency will start to translate into some promising stats very soon... Irish golfers to break into the top 300 in the world as teenagers, since the inception of #OWGR : 1. @McIlroyRory (that's it) But coming soon... 2. @tommckibbin8
