Irish footballers get circled by porpoise while sea swimming at popular Dublin spot as World Cup preparations continue

The Ireland footballers are just days away from flying to Australia and stopped by the Forty Foot where they came up close and personal with a porpoise.

Vera Pauw named her squad last week for the upcoming World Cup with Ruesha Littlejohn among those selected.

And the Aston Villa midfielder has been vlogging her journey and her latest video showed players enjoying themselves in the team hotel and travelled to south Dublin for a swim with some of her teammates.

Sharing the video on YouTube, Littlejohn and teammates visited the popular Dublin swimming spot the Forty Foot in Sandycove.

And while swimming and climbing on top of a nearby buoy, Littlejohn found herself circled by a nearby porpoise but eventually swam back to shore without any issues.

Ireland take on France tonight in their final friendly before flying to Australia for the World Cup.

Their first game will be against the home nation in Sydney on 20 July with some 80,000 expected to attend and Ireland are set to have massive support throughout the tournament.
