Irish Derby tips and race card - list of runners at the Curragh on Sunday

The Irish Derby takes place at the Curragh this afternoon on what is a bumper day of Irish sport.

Some 20 minutes before Dublin v Mayo throws in at Croke Park, the classic will be run at the Co Kildare venue.

Auguste Rodin is looking to follow up his Epsom heroics by becoming the 19th horse to do the English/ Irish derby double after the likes of Nijinsky (1970), Shergar (1981), Sinndar (2000), Galileo (2001) and High Chaparral (2002), as well as Camelot (2012), Australia (2014) and Harzand (2016) more recently.

Aidan O'Brien is responsible for more than half of the field of nine runners, with the Ballydoyle trainer also running San Antonio, Adelaide River, Peking Opera and Covent Garden as he aims to win his 100th European Classic.

But incredibly Ryan Moore has never won the Irish Derby and he'll be hoping to change that today and win one of the few top-level prizes that has so far eluded him.
