It got a little bit too close fur comfort for these two foxes after they got trapped on an estuary sandbank today.
The animals, which are nocturnal, shocked early-morning walkers after they were spotted in Baldoyle in Dublin.
The Irish Coast Guard, who shared a clip, said: “Here’s a very unique video documenting 2 foxes trapped on our local Baldoyle estuary sandbanks, a common incident location.
“This video shows how quickly the situation can change and the ground around you disappear until nothing is left.”
They said the foxes eventually swam back to shore.
The coast guard stressed getting stuck on an estuary sandbank has been happening a lot.
They encouraged walkers to check the tide times to avoid the nightmare scenario.
The rescuers said: “Before walking out on the sands, just search “tide times” from your phone to plan your turnaround time while the tide is still dropping.”
