A lucky Irish punter incredibly pocketed over €75,000 from bets totalling just €25.50 at the Cheltenham Festival.
The Co Kildare backer trousered a cool €75,026.02 after placing a 0.20c and 0.15c bet with Paddy Power on Wednesday.
The bet was a each-way Lucky 63 and an each-way accumulator costing a total of €25.50 but they made 2942 times that amount.
The shrewd backer’s bet consisted of Turners Novices’ Chase hero Stage Star at 12-1 (returned 15-2), Coltor in the Pertemps Network Final (pulled up), Ryanair Chase winner Envoi Allen at 12-1 (returned 13-2), Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle winner Sire Du Berlais at a whopping 66-1 (returned 33-1), Magners Plate winner Seddon at 28-1 (returned 20-1) and Coo Star Sivola (pulled up).
Paddy Power spokesperson Rachael Kane said: “This lucky punter must have some crystal ball at home to pick four double-figure priced winners, but not only that, dramatically beat the starting price on each one and pinpoint the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle hero Sire Du Berlais at a colossal 66-1.
“It’s magnificent that someone has scooped a cool €75k for a bet of €25.40, especially involving a long-priced winner of a race that we’re proud to sponsor, and I’d say they’ll have a fair old knees up on St Patrick’s Day.”
