Irish celebrities don’t seem to be bothered by the thoughts of a recession as they’ve been living it up abroad this summer.
There are many indicators that a global recession is on the way. The European Central Bank raised their interest rates for the first time in 11 years amid runaway global inflation. The Central Statistics Office's latest Consumer Price Index shows inflation is at 9.1 percent to the year ending June 2022 - the highest rate of annual inflation since 1984.
But Suzanne Jackson was still able to afford to buy a boat, Conor McGregor has had several parties in Spain and Pippa O'Connor has been enjoying a luxury holiday in Portugal. It’s well for some!

So here’s what some of our talented celebs are up to:
Pippa O’Connor
Pippa, along with her husband Brian Ormond and their family have been spending a lot of time in Portugal this summer. The gang have been doing plenty of bonding activities such as go-karting, football and mini golf.
They even had a surprise appearance from one of Pippa’s famous friends. Brian Dowling and husband, Arthur Gourounlian joined Pippa and Brian for a stunning double date with beach views.
The family have been enjoying their holiday for over two weeks now and before that, Brian took Pippa on a getaway to a stunning hotel in Santorini to celebrate their wedding anniversary. She shared some snaps of the getaway showing off the incredible hotel Cavo Tagoo Santorini with amazing views of the sea.
Conor McGregor
The UFC star and his sister Aoife celebrated her birthday on his new €3m Lamborghini yacht as they soaked in the Spanish sun. They also went to a private club at the Destino Pacha Resort.
Last week, the McGregors celebrated his 34th birthday alongside a whole host of famous faces. The bare chested MMA fighter was in high spirits as he enjoyed cocktails made from his own whiskey while partygoers belted out happy birthday to him while standing beside a massive cake with his name embellished in icing.
The Crumlin native said: “What a party, thank you team. Ain’t no party like a Mac Daddy party.”
Suzanne Jackson
The SOSU creator and her husband Dylan planned to spend "a couple of months" in Portugal. Speaking to VIP Magazine, she and Dylan plan to enjoy a "different way of living" in Portugal.
She explained: "We did have plans to do this last year but with Covid it didn't happen. It's a different way of living for us. We have no children. We have a lovely villa we're renting at the moment but we will buy when the market is not so inflated."
The pair bought a boat earlier this year called "So Sue Me" - a nod to Suzanne's hugely successful makeup and cosmetic brand. Dylan had replaced the yellow seats with white and grey ones to give it a more modern touch.
Vogue Williams
Vogue Williams and husband Spencer certainly don't seem to concerned about any financial crisis. The couple splashed out on a property in Jersey worth £7million (just over €8million), however she says she doesn't want to live there full time.
Spencer revealed last year that he purchased a third home, on top of their London and Howth properties. Mum-of-three Vogue flew to Jersey this week to visit the lavish home- however says she doesn't plan on living there full time.
