Matthew McClean has booked his place in the next year's Masters and US Open after beating his Irish compatriot in the final of the U.S. Mid-Amatuer Championship.
The Belfast man, 29, won 3&1 against Dubliner Foley, 25, after the pair saw off some of the best amateurs in the world at Erin Hills Golf Club in Wisconsin.
McClean travelled to the championship with Foley, and the pair stayed together throughout the marathon week.

After both qualifying for the match play stages of the tournament, the friends were the last men standing of 64 players to make it through.
Foley has had an exceptional summer on the Irish amateur circuit, winning the North and South of Ireland titles - a feat last accomplished in 1990 by Darren Clarke.
And the Royal Dublin man won the opening hole against McClean at Erin Hills.
But that was the only time Foley was ahead in the match as McClean finished 2up after the first 18 holes on Friday.
By the 12th hole, their 30th, McClean bagged a birdie to surge into a 5-up lead.
But Foley rallied to win the next three holes and extend the match to the 35 hole.
It was McClean, though, who held on for the victory in the prestigious amateur event.
The win also books McClean, who works as an optometrist, a place in the fields for next year's Masters and US Open.
